Dear Lord My God I humble myself before Thee. I prostrate myself in Your loving graces. I approach You in mind, body, and soul. My Lord, I fear to raise my eyes to You for I fear You in love and I fear You in my sin. Oh Lord…in my sin…
Yet I ask for forgiveness oh my Lord of second chances. Please…give me a third for I have squandered my previous two. My God, please save me from myself for I cannot be trusted with what You have given me in good faith.
I look around me and ask my fellow brethren for help. Yet they look at me and beg me for help. Are we the blind leading the blind? My Lord, though in my sinful state, please allow me to be of help to my brethren who are in greater need of You than I.
I ask You my Lord, through my helping hand, extend Yours to my brethren for I cannot do it alone. Allow them to see that it is Your hand that is extended and not mine, so that they may see You and not me, for I am not deserving nor worthy of praise.
My Lord, though I have squandered Your gifts of good graces, allow me to take the remnants still within me and share those morsels with those that have none, for even a drop for those that have none would quench their scorching thirst.
My Father, give me the strength to pick up my wounded brethren and carry them one by one, to safer ground, to holy ground so that they may rest in Your shadow. Allow them restful sleep for they will need their strength to follow.
My Lord, let our road be clear, let our road be safe, let our road be You. My Lord, call out to us for we are a blind people and we follow the echo of Your voice, like a siren warning of danger. Let us gather at Your hill top and wait for the gathering storm to pass.
My Lord it is there on that hill top that we finally see. We see three lonely crosses. At the foot of one we find a blood stained lance. The sight of it pierces our soul and we cry out in agony, why not us..why not us? But we receive no answers.
My Lord, where do we go from here? You have led us this far, do not leave us atop this hill, lonely and afraid. My Lord Jesus Christ, I beg of You, forgive us and allow us to start all over again!
