For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him. (Colossians 1: 16, KJV)
Webster’s dictionary defines purpose as the reason for which something exists or is done.
How many of us believe we have found our purpose in life? Where do we look for this purpose? If we find it, what does it take to achieve? Whose purpose are we achieving, ours or God’s?
All of us should be striving to achieve God’s purpose, for it is the only one that matters on judgment day.
Where do we look? The answer may appear simple, but in the doing we discover it’s not so easy.
The answer: Find God and make room for Him in your life, give Him the best room in your soul, heart and mind. Be open to His soft whisperings or loud clashing of drums.
Now we have to make the real commitment. We give up ourselves.
Uh-oh, stop, hold the train. We need to give up ourselves?
In John 3:30 (KJV), John the Baptist is tells his followers, when they question him about a new prophet named Jesus, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
John is telling his followers that Jesus is the new star on the horizon. Like the last vestiges of sunset, John must fade from the horizon.
To find purpose in our journey, we must take this one step farther. We must decrease ourselves and God increase Himself in us.
We must die to selfishness, anger, self-centeredness, self-aggrandizement, and all the things that shine light on ourselves. We need to shine the light on God. Only then can we begin to find God’s purpose for our lives.
When we walk with Jesus, when we talk with Jesus, when we share all that we are, all that God created, only then will God reveal His purpose in our lives and we can truly begin to share in God’s glorious plan for our life.

Surrender to his will, sounds easy and we know the rewards are great, but still hard to do.
